Rhodri Thompson QC

Rhodri is a senior silk specialising in competition law and EU law. He is also a recognised leader public law in telecommunications law and sports law.  He received the 2008 EU/Competition law Silk of the Year Award from Chambers and Partners. He is the Joint Chair of the Joint Working Party of the UK Bars and Law Societies on Competition Law and Honorary Treasurer of the UKAEL.

Chambers and Partners 2014 ranks Rhodri in Band 1 for Competition and EU Law stating that Rhodri “has immense knowledge and skill but a calmness that makes him a very reassuring silk.” He is “quick to engage and understand the detail of a case”.  They also describe Rhodri as “An excellent advocate who is very experienced.”

Legal 500 2013 ranks Rhodri in Administrative & Public Law, Civil Liberties & Human Rights, EU and Competition and Media, Entertainment and Sport stating that Rhodri has “an astonishing ability to get on top of the facts quickly.”

Rhodri was a founder member of Matrix and is the current Chair of the Management Committee.  He is a qualified negotiator and mediator and became a Civil Recorder in 2010.
