Debbie Nicholson is a Senior Associate in the Sports Group at Fieldfisher LLP. She is a specialist in regulation and governance and has advised national governing bodies and sports clubs on a variety of contentious and non-contentious operational matters including anti-doping, GDPR, health and safety, consent, athlete selection/appeals/programme removal, and medical service delivery.
In addition, she has represented organisations and athletes in disciplinary proceedings at regional and national level as a lead investigator and advocate. Debbie is regularly asked to advise on safeguarding matters in relation to both children and vulnerable adults [including historic concerns] that relate to ongoing police investigations. She also undertakes a significant amount of policy work in this area.
