Julian is a specialist and highly-experienced commercial sports lawyer, focusing on the commercialisation and protection of media, marketing, data and other sports rights.

He has acted for a wide range of domestic and international rights holders, agencies, brands and clubs, including in football, horseracing, cricket, rugby, cycling and golf.

He worked for 10 years overseas in-house in Switzerland and Singapore.

Over the last 15 years, Julian has advised on many of the world's best-known and largest sports events, including on FIFA World Cups, the UCI Road World Championships and the Epsom Derby. This has involved specialist legal acumen, but also a deep knowledge of the sports and media industries globally and considerable understanding of international business culture.  

He also assisted many new market entrants, including start-up sports technologies businesses, new sports formats, teams and events and entrepreneurs. He has advised from a legal perspective, but also supported strategically and by utilising a wide network of international clients and contacts.
