Shareholder
Robert Turner advises on complex, cross-border commercial transactions and regulatory matters across the Sports and Entertainment sectors, acting for prominent rights-holders, brands, and platforms across the full commercial lifecycle - from high-value B2B transactions through to consumer-facing regulatory compliance. His practice combines deep transactional expertise with hands-on regulatory experience, enabling him to advise clients on how to structure major commercial arrangements and navigate the scrutiny they attract.
Robert's transactional practice spans some of the most significant deals in global sport. He is a leading expert on hospitality and ticketing arrangements for live events, acting for the world's leading sports international governing body on the appointment of the Official Hospitality Provider for a major international sporting event (described as the 'biggest commercial contract in sports') and the IOC on the appointment of On Location as Official Hospitality Provider for both Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028. He also acts for multiple Premier League clubs on venue hire agreements and summer tour operator programmes.
Robert's commercial partnership work spans some of the most recognised brands and clubs in world sport. He advises Arsenal FC on its technical partner agreement with adidas and naming rights and shirt sponsorship agreements with Emirates, England Rugby on the renewal of its O2 shirt sponsorship, and a leading Premier League club on its $1 billion technical partnership with Nike. He also advises on the sponsor side, including acting for DXC Technology on its shirt sponsorship of Manchester United FC.
Robert's regulatory experience covers sports, entertainment, media and other sectors, advising clients on consumer-facing obligations and representing them when those obligations are challenged. He acted as lead advisor on the defence of a high-profile CMA investigation into the pricing and sales practices of a leading international ticketing platform, has defended multiple clients before the CMA and Advertising Standards Authority, and has advised businesses on compliance across pricing, promotions, and digital sales. He has also advised clients on the application of consumer protection and distance contract laws to OTT subscription models.
Clients return to Robert because he brings both commercial acumen and regulatory awareness to every engagement, understanding not only how to get a deal done, but how it will be received by regulators, consumers and the public.
Robert Turner is recognised as a Next Generation Partner for Sport in the Legal 500 UK 2026, praised for his commercial acumen and experience in high-value sponsorship and commercial agreements.
