Monday, 13 October 2025 Author: Manan Agrawal

For this week’s edition of Sports Lawyer In The Spotlight, we interviewed Takuya Yamazaki, who is the Founder & Managing Partner at Field-R Law Offices, a specialized sports and entertainment law practice based in Tokyo.

Takuya holds a number of executive positions in international and domestic sports organisations, including serving as a CAS arbitrator, and as a board member of both FIFPRO and the World Players Association. He has also served as a member of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (2009-2019), a member of the advisory panel in the Grievance Mechanism for the Tokyo 2020 Sustainable Sourcing Code, and a member of special committees of sports organizations such as Japan Sports Arbitration Agency (JSAA), Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics Organizing Committee (TOCOG), and Japan Sports Association (JSPO).

Takuya is also an Editorial Board member at LawInSport.

We sat down with Takuya in September 2025 to conduct this interview. We hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did.
