The ITA charges weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah with an anti-doping rule violation and imposes a provisional suspension

International Testing Authority (ITA)

The International Testing Agency (ITA), leading an independent anti-doping program on behalf of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), confirms that it has charged Indonesian weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah with an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) for three whereabouts failures committed within a 12-month period.

The ITA confirms that weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah is charged with an ADRV under Article 2.4 of the IWF Anti-Doping Rules (IWF ADR) for committing three whereabouts failures within a 12-month period.1

Further, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and Article 7.4.2 of the IWF Anti-Doping Rules, on 15 September 2026 a provisional suspension was imposed on the athlete. The athlete challenged the provisional suspension and requested for a provisional hearing (to lift the provisional suspension imposed) and provisional measures.2

On 24 September 2026, the anti-doping division of the court of arbitration for sport (CAS ADD) denied the athlete’s request for provisional measures and maintained the provisional suspension imposed by the ITA.

The case will now continue for a determination on the finding of the ADRV and applicable sanction.

Pursuant to the IWF’s delegation of its anti-doping program to the ITA, the prosecution of the case is being handled entirely by the ITA.

Given that the case is ongoing, there will be no further comments made.
