Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 – The ITA sanctions Indian wrestling athlete Jaspreet Kaur for an anti-doping rule violation

The International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), reports that Indian wrestling athlete Jaspreet KAUR has been sanctioned for an anti-doping rule violation.

The International Testing Agency (ITA) reports that a urine sample collected during an in-competition doping control on 29 April 2026 during the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 from wrestling athlete Jaspreet Kaur (India) has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF)¹ for octodrine (1,5-dimethylhexylamine) and its metabolite heptaminol.

Octodrine and heptaminol are prohibited under the WADA Prohibited List as S6.B Stimulants. They are prohibited in-competition and classified as specified substances. Octodrine is a central nervous system stimulant that boosts alertness and energy by increasing dopamine and noradrenaline uptake. Heptaminol is a cardiovascular stimulant that enhances circulation by increasing blood flow and supporting heart function.

The athlete accepted the consequences of her Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) under the OCA anti-doping rules, namely the finding of the ADRV and the disqualification of her results obtained at the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026.

The ITA issued the sanction on behalf of the OCA in accordance with article 8.3.3 of the OCA anti-doping rules (and equivalent provision in the World Anti-Doping Code).²

The matter is considered as resolved from the perspective of the OCA and will now be further assessed independently by the ITA on behalf of United World Wrestling (UWW) for a determination of further consequences under the UWW anti-doping rules.

Parties with a right of appeal may challenge the decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in accordance with article 12.2 of the OCA anti-doping rules.

There will be no further comments on this case.
