Jameel Mann

Jameel is a specialist employment solicitor in the Mills & Reeve Sports Team, based in the Birmingham office. He has over 15 years’ experience advising on all areas of employment law. He has specific experience in the Sports sector and regularly advised clubs, associations and governing bodies. He also delivers training to organisations to assist them with both legal compliance and in embedding their culture and ethos through their HR and employment practices.

Relevant experience:

• Providing day-to-day strategic employment advice to a number of high-profile clubs and associations on issues such as contractual disputes, disciplinary and grievance matters, discrimination, complying with legal obligations and managing reputation in light of allegations of a criminal nature against employees, complex holiday pay claims and reviewing HR policies and procedures.
• Advising several Premiership and Championship football clubs and managers on complex appointments, terminations and contractual disputes.
• Conducting investigations on behalf of sporting bodies and clubs relating to issues such as discrimination, bullying and harassment and whistleblowing allegations.
• Advising upon issues relating to employment and worker status in respect of individuals based both in the UK and overseas.
