John is an IA Director at Stobbs. He joined Stobbs in March 2021 having previously worked at Oakleigh IP and before that with London IP Attorneys Phillips & Leigh. A Chartered Trade Mark Attorney with over 30 years’ experience in the profession, John has a broad and deep range of experience across all aspects of trade mark prosecution, brand exploitation, IP enforcement and portfolio management, both in the UK and internationally. 

John works with a large number of direct clients in the UK, USA, and mainland Europe in a wide variety of different commercial fields such as automotive, industrial products, clothing, retail, education, sports and leisure equipment, floor coverings, the food and drinks sector and web technology. He has a particular interest and expertise in relation to conflict resolution, delivering commercial focused results. John enjoys building close connections with his clients, building long lasting relationships to fully understand their commercial drivers and enabling holistic solutions to complex brand issues.

John is an active member of INTA contributing to the renowned Country Guides publication as one of the principal editors.

Outside of work, John is a keen cyclist. He tries to balance a love of food and cooking with keeping fit ... not always successfully. Cars, sport, films, comedy, gym, yoga are other sources of relaxation and frustration. He is proud father, owner of two miniature dachshunds Bert & Benson who are as stubborn as he can be but much more adorable.
