Chris Boyle

Chris Boyle leads business development at Safecall, one of the UK's leading providers of whistleblowing solutions  where he has spent the past five years building the firm's commercial presence with organisations across the world.

In sport, Chris and the Safecall team work with clubs, governing bodies and sporting organisations that need a credible, independent and confidential reporting route for staff, contractors, academy players and other stakeholders to raise concerns. As the Football Governance Act introduces a mandatory whistleblowing requirement for all 116 clubs in the English football pyramid, Safecall's managed service is increasingly central to how clubs demonstrate compliance with the Independent Football Regulator's expectations. A well-designed whistleblowing mechanism is not simply a box to tick: it is the foundation of a culture where concerns surface early, before they become crises, and where the people closest to a problem feel safe enough to speak up.

Chris brings a consultative approach to this work, taking time to understand the culture and communication needs of each organisation before designing a solution. That attentiveness to organisational context is particularly important in sport, where the dynamics between players, staff, management and ownership can be complex, and where the reputational consequences of a governance failure are felt publicly and immediately.

In his current role as Business Development Team Leader, Chris leads a high-performing sales team, combining strategic oversight with direct client engagement. He is responsible for pipeline development, team coaching and ensuring that Safecall's solutions are matched carefully to the compliance and ethical standards each client needs to meet. He holds an ILM Level 5 qualification in Operational and Departmental Management, completed in 2025 with a distinction, reflecting his commitment to professional development alongside his commercial work.

Before joining Safecall, Chris held business development roles at Vianet Group and SaleCycle, and began his career in IT recruitment. He holds a BSc in Architectural Technology from Northumbria University.
