Tom Speer is an Associate Director at Law Debenture and leads its Escrow and Treasury Services business, bringing deep expertise in escrow structuring and a strong commercial understanding of what both corporate clients and escrow agents need from a transaction.

In sport, Tom and his team provide escrow and paying agent services that sit at the heart of some of the sector's most significant commercial transactions. Sporting events, hospitality deals, broadcasting arrangements, sponsorship agreements and rights transactions all carry financial flows that require independent, reliable and professionally managed escrow arrangements. Much of what his team does originates from a network built over more than two decades in financial services, with clients and counterparties returning because they know Tom and his team will keep complex transactions moving. Beyond sport, Tom's team works across a broad range of transaction types, including mergers and acquisitions, pension scheme surplus solutions, litigation, real estate, commodities and project finance. Tom's career in escrow and treasury spans some of the most respected institutions in the market. Before joining Law Debenture he was Vice President and Escrow Team Leader at Deutsche Bank AG Filiale London, and has previously held roles at J.P. Morgan, Bank of New York Mellon, Butterfield Private Bank and Barclays Private Bank. That institutional background gives him a clear understanding of how counterparties, advisers and regulators think about escrow arrangements, and how to structure solutions that work in practice as well as on paper.
