Rugby Union player banned for four years

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) has today confirmed that Rugby Union player Michael Lowis has been suspended from all sport for four years following an Anti-Doping Rule Violation.
Lowis, who was registered at Clevedon RFC, tested positive for the presence of a prohibited substance, namely drostanolone, and a metabolite of another prohibited substance, namely trenbolone, following an in-competition test on 15 March 2017.
Lowis was charged with an ADRV pursuant to Article 2.1 of the Anti-Doping Rules – “Presence of a Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers in an Athlete’s Sample”.
The player is banned from all sport from 10 April 2017 to 9 April 2021.
