Shrewsbury Town and Birmingham City sanctioned

The FA

Birmingham City and Shrewsbury Town have been fined £7,500 and £2,500 respectively for the mass confrontation at their EFL Trophy match on Tuesday 8 October.

It was alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 68th minute

Birmingham City admitted to the charge, and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed the club’s fine following a hearing. Its written reasons can be seen below.

Shrewsbury Town also admitted to the charge and received the standard penalty.
