APIA (Samoa) - Samoa National Basketball Association (SNBA) partnered with the National University of Samoa (NUS) to help integrate basketball into their school calendar activities and continue the grassroots development of basketball in Samoa.

The partnership will provide an opportunity for high school and collegiate student-athletes for continuous training and activities throughout the year.

SNBA Sports Administrator Sarah-Lee Liliuokalani Malaesilia welcomed the collaboration as a huge help in securing the bright future of Samoa basketball as a whole.

“We’re proud to usher in this project to enrich basketball interest and development of Samoa basketball. It is also aimed at uplifting the level of basketball in any group age. The SNBA looks forward to helping these age groups in developing their skills and knowledge in playing and advocating the game,” said Malaesilia in a statement.

SNBA also credited NUS Sports Master Tavita Askuso development of the partnership given his deep experience as a Federation table director in the Pacific Games.

Included in the pipeline are quarterly basketball activities and regular basketball tournaments among NUS and other universities.
