UKAD issues statement following WADA Executive Committee meeting

UKAD

Press Release

24th September 2019

Following reports that data supplied to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) by Russia’s Moscow laboratory in January may have been manipulated, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) has issued the following statement:

UKAD is deeply disappointed and concerned at the news that athlete ‘LIMS’ data delivered to WADA after the 31 December 2018 deadline, from the Moscow laboratory may have been manipulated.

“UKAD officials worked closely with the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) during its period of non-compliance, as outlined in our report issued today, and the developments made were a success despite numerous challenges. As an agency, RUSADA has demonstrated it is committed to running a robust, independent anti-doping programme.

“We await the response from the Russian authorities and what action the Compliance Review Committee recommends in response.”
