Hungary sanctioned after racist behaviour towards England players

Belgian police to investigate possible basketball fraud case
BRUSSELS (AP) — The Belgian basketball federation has asked the country’s federal police to investigate a possible fraud case related to the organization of 3x3 tournaments in the runup to the Tokyo Olympics.
Following discussions with the local Wallonia and Flanders federations, Basketball Belgium said in a statement on Tuesday that it contacted a police unit specialized in sports fraud to conduct a “thorough investigation.”
The federation said a disciplinary inquiry was being carried out by Basketball Flanders in addition to a criminal complaint.
De Standaard newspaper reported last month that fake 3x3 basketball tournaments were set up in Belgium from August to October 2019 in a bid to allow the Belgium team to collect the necessary points to be able to take part in qualifying for the Olympic Games.

WADA to review cannabis rules
The World Anti-Doping Agency is set to review whether or not cannabis should remain a banned substance.
Following a meeting of WADA's executive committee in Istanbul yesterday WADA announced that it will review the cannabis rules to determine whether or not the substance should remain on the Prohibited List. The announcement comes a few months after American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson missed the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for the substance, saying it helped her deal with the death of her mother.

What did we learn from UKAD’s 2021 Clean Sport at the Front Line?
UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD) Clean Sport at the Front Line (CSFL) took place on 14 & 15 September 2021 online.
The event was tailored towards practitioners in sport and was free to attend. More than 100 delegates attended on each day of the virtual event.
This year’s CSFL2021 looked at the importance of clean sport education for athlete support personnel and coaches. The forum presented recent research studies into coach and athlete support personnel anti-doping knowledge. UKAD introduced their new Insight and Innovation Team, who will be leading the development of research into prevalence studies, drug detection, monitoring & evaluation and data analytics.
Ntozakhe allowed to resume bowling in international cricket
The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced that following remedial work and re-assessment, the bowling action of South Africa off-spinner Raisibe Ntozakhe has been found to be legal, and she can resume bowling in international cricket.
The UCI has elected its Vice-Presidents for the next four years
Meeting for an extraordinary session after the Congress of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) organised during the 2021 UCI Road World Championships in Flanders (Belgium), the newly elected Management Committee today carried out the election of the Federation’s Vice-Presidents for the next four years. In line with a modification to the UCI Constitution approved earlier in the day by its Congress, the UCI now counts at least one Vice-President of each gender, for a total of four Vice-Presidents (compared with three previously). Players, unions and competitions support new guidelines for rugby contact training load
- Best-practice contact training load guidelines aim to reduce injury risk while maintaining or improving performance
- New guidelines set out advised weekly limits for full contact training (15 minutes), controlled contact (40 minutes) and live set piece (30 minutes) training
- Guidelines follow global consultation, including feedback from almost 600 players across elite men’s and women’s competitions, and input from leading strength and conditioning, medical and performance experts
- They will be underpinned by a review and research programme to drive continuous learning and improvement, and to encourage consistent application across the professional game
- Guidelines and follow-up research welcomed by players, national unions, global competitions
- Elite teams, including Leinster, Clermont Auvergne and Benetton Treviso, have signed up to a trial measuring their training and match contact using instrumented mouthguards to monitor effectiveness and inform future advancements
IIHF Congress starts today
The delegates from the IIHF member national associations have arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, for the 2021 IIHF Semi-Annual Congress that will be held over the next four days.
The delegates were warmly welcomed on Tuesday evening with a reception by the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Organizing Committee, held at the Russian Museum of Ethnography.

IOC Transgender Guidelines further delayed to 2022
The International Olympic Committee transgender guidelines have been delayed until 2022 due to “very conflicting opinions.”
The guidelines are now expected to be published after the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing which would be three years later than originally planned. The IOC’s science and medical director Dr Richard Budgett said the guidance would “prioritise inclusion” and “avoid harm.”
