Para Athletics Athlete Suspended for Multiple Whereabouts Failures
Sport Integrity Canada announced today that Bianca Borgella, a para athletics athlete, received an 18-month sanction for an anti-doping rule violation. The athlete had three confirmed whereabouts failures during a 12-month period.
In response to Sport Integrity Canada’s notification of the anti-doping rule violation, the athlete signed an Agreement on Consequences thereby waiving their right to a hearing and accepting the proposed sanction and all other applicable consequences. Because the athlete accepted a voluntary provisional suspension, the sanction ends on December 26, 2026.
During the sanction period, the athlete is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport signatory to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) or the World Anti-Doping Code, including coaching or training with teammates, or any other individuals subject to these rules.
