The ITA acknowledges the International hearing panel decision sanctioning Wushu athlete Parveen Sharma

International Testing Authority (ITA)

Sport Resolutions’ International Hearing Panel (IHP) has confirmed that Indian wushu athlete Parveen Sharma committed an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) for three whereabouts failures and has sanctioned him with two years of ineligibility, as well as the disqualification of all results obtained from 1 October 2023 onwards.

Over the course of 2023, Parveen Sharma was included in the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) registered testing pool, managed by the International Testing Agency (ITA), and committed three whereabouts failures.

More precisely, on three occasions over the course of twelve months, the ITA attempted to locate the athlete for unannounced sample collection, but the athlete could not be located based on the whereabouts information he had provided for such purpose. These circumstances amounted to an ADRV under article 2.4 of the IWUF anti-doping rules.¹

Following the results management process conducted by the ITA, the ITA submitted the matter for adjudication to the IHP on 11 July 2025.

On 8 May 2026, the IHP found that the athlete had committed an ADRV for three whereabouts failures within a 12-month period in accordance with article 2.4 of the IWUF anti-doping rules.

As a result, the IHP has imposed a two-year period of ineligibility on Parveen Sharma from 8 May 2026 to 7 May 2028. Additionally, all results obtained by the athlete from 1 October 2023 on are disqualified.

The athlete and the relevant stakeholders, namely IWUF/ITA, the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Indian Anti-Doping Agency, have a right to appeal the IHP decision before the appeals division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The ITA will not comment further on this case.
