Celeste is an infrastructure, construction and energy lawyer with experience advising public and private sector clients on a range of complex and large-scale projects. She has experience drafting and negotiating project documents and acting in construction disputes including mediations, litigation and international arbitration.
Her clients include Australian State and Commonwealth Government and private sector clients in relation to energy, bio-renewables, water, wastewater, construction, infrastructure and defence projects. Her experience includes in-house work.
Prior to qualifying as a lawyer, she worked for BHP Billiton (coal bed methane), Exxon Mobil (gas and power marketing), ARRB Group (traffic and transport engineering) and other engineering roles. Celeste enjoys helping her clients bring together technically complex projects, through her unique understanding of the interface between engineering and law.
Celeste is passionate about promoting Asia-Australia bilateral investment, particularly with Japan. Celeste speaks Japanese, having studied it for over ten years. She previously worked as a lawyer in Tokyo and has studied Japanese law at Meiji University. She is active in the Australia-Japan bilateral relationship, including being a Future Leaders Delegate of the Australia-Japan Business Cooperation Committee.
