Founded in 2010 by Paolo Lombardi, formerly Head of Disciplinary and Governance at FIFA, following a decade working for football’s governing body, Lombardi Associates offer professional advice and support to football clubs, players, coaches, intermediaries, associations, regulators, and investors worldwide.

Lombardi Associates advises across the full spectrum of regulatory matters.  Our areas of specialism include an in-depth knowledge of all FIFA regulations including the FIFA RSTP and the FIFA Football Agent Regulations, as well as UEFA regulations and in particular Club Licensing and Financial Sustainability Regulations. We assist clients in dealing with FIFA and member association bodies at domestic level, commercial disputes and regulatory matters, training rewards i.e., solidarity mechanism and training compensation and the FIFA Clearing House. We have assisted clients in around 200 cases at CAS, both at first instance and appeal procedures.

We offer a close working relationship to our clients and assist with transfer related negotiations and agreements, employment-related matters and liaise with our international network of contacts to find practical and effective solutions. In addition to legal and regulatory services, our in-house accountant assists with financial aspects of various regulations including taxation elements allowing us to provide a full service to clients.

Our team lectures on a variety of different subjects on courses ranging from undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at institutions all over the world. Lombardi Associates sits on a number of disciplinary panels, including Sports Resolutions, Scottish Athletics and UK Athletics.
