Ceyhun Pehlivan

Ceyhun co-leads the Telecommunications, Media and Technology and IP practice group in the Madrid office of Linklaters LLP. He has extensive experience in counselling both domestic and international clients on technology issues, data protection and cyber matters, licensing, outsourcing contracts.

Ceyhun regularly advises clients on innovative uses of data and tech (including in relation to artificial intelligence, fintech, IoT and adtech), as well as on cyber incident response. As a member of the firm’s cross-practice Crisis team, Ceyhun advises on investigations by data protection authorities and other regulators, as well as on clients’ own internal investigations.

Having previously worked in-house at one of the world’s leading health technology companies, Ceyhun has a particular interest in the healthcare sector and advises across a number of other highly-regulated sectors as well, including the technology and financial services sectors.

Ceyhun’s time in-house has given him an instinctive grasp of what clients need and value. His incisive, solution-oriented approach is much-praised, and is firmly grounded by his detailed knowledge of the law.

Amongst other things, Ceyhun is a full-time Adjunct Professor of Law at IE Law School, recognised as one of the top law schools in Europe, where he teaches privacy, data protection, and cyber-security in both postgraduate and undergraduate degrees.

He has also been recognised as one of the “Top 10 Cybersecurity Lawyers in Spain” by Iberian Lawyer and listed in “The Best Lawyers in Spain”.

He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Global Privacy Law Review (Wolters Kluwer), an academic and professional law journal specialising in global privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity matters.
