Christopher Brown

Christopher Brown is a barrister at Matrix Chambers in London.  His practice focuses on competition law and general EU law; he also has experience of general commercial, public and human rights law.

Before coming to Matrix in 2009, Christopher served as a Referendaire to the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), where he assisted the Tribunal panels in the management and resolution of appeals against decisions of the Office of Fair Trading and Competition Commission.  He then became the sole EU/competition practitioner at Farrer & Co LLP, where he advised clients on competition, public procurement and sports law.  Whilst at Farrers, he advised various sports governing bodies on regulatory and commercial law issues.  At Matrix he has been involved in a dispute relating to the organisation of the speedway Elite League, in selection and other regulatory appeals, and in providing advice to governing bodies on competition and EU law issues.

Christopher teaches UK competition law on the LLM King’s College London.  He has written extensively on EU and competition law, including as a contributing author of the principal practitioner work Bellamy and Child’s European Union Law of Competition.
