Thursday 8 July 2010
The Field Fisher Waterhouse Sports Group presents its second annual lunch time seminar. The event will touch on a number of the most pressing issues for the sports sector. The general themes of the talks relate to sports broadcasting, football regulation and football club insolvency. We are delighted to have Marie Demetriou from Brick Court Chambers and Mark Fry from Begbies Traynor who will come to the FFW offices to talk about a number of sporting issues.
Mark has acted as the administrator for the holding company that owned Southampton Football Club. Mark is currenty working on the restructuring of a Premier League club and will offer his thoughts on administration in football, the football creditor rule and HMRC's challenge to the football creditor rule. This insider perspective on insolvency issues should not be missed.
Daniel Geey from the EU and Regulatory Group will then discuss the issues surrounding two sets of important football regulations; the fit and proper persons test and UEFA's proposed Fair Play Regulations.
The lunchtime seminar is open to all and there is no cost. The event is also available as a webinar for people to dial in.
