James is an associate at Quantum Law LLP specialising in employment law and sports. James is a registered agent with the Professional Cricketers Association and the Rugby Football Union and a Registered Lawyer with the FA.

James currently acts as agent for a large number of county and international cricketers and has represented them in moves between counties, renewals of contracts as well as in Twenty20 competitions around the world. James also acts as agent for a number of premiership rugby players and professional footballers and has represented players in a host of transfers.

Aside from agency related work, James also advises clubs, teams and players in employment related matters as well as having particular expertise in player contracts, disciplinary proceedings, image rights, endorsements and sponsorship contracts. James has also delivered presentations to a number of premiership football clubs and their academies on the role of agents within the game to help educate young players on the potential issues that can arise if they are not advised correctly.
