Johnny Champion is an associate in Stephenson Harwood LLP’s dispute resolution team where he provides advice primarily in relation to contentious and regulatory matters to banks, corporates and high net worth individuals in relation to a range of matters involving arbitration and litigation. He has particular experience in finance litigation, contractual and multi-jurisdictional disputes, and aviation disputes.

Johnny is a member of the firm’s cross-departmental sports practice which encompasses specialist lawyers in its commercial, construction, corporate, employment, dispute resolution, finance, IP, insolvency/restructuring, and real estate teams, who have experience in advising on a range of issues related to the sports sector. The team has a wealth of experience in motorsports, including, for example, acting in disputes between drivers and teams, and in relation to the negotiation of promotion agreements (including the five year promoter’s agreement (with five year option to extend) between Dorna, the commercial rights owner of MotoGP, and our client, Heads of the Valleys Development Company Ltd, in respect of the British round of MotoGP to be held at the new Circuit of Wales).

In his spare time, Johnny enjoys maintaining and driving his collection of cars as well as being a keen badminton player.
