Matt is a law graduate who has aspirations to become an international lawyer. His legal work experience includes that of City and regional law firms in addition to pro bono experience and extensive research into Japanese sports betting law. He has recently spent two years living in Japan to broaden his knowledge of a different culture and legal system. His sporting interests lie predominantly in football, tennis, boxing and cycling.

Matt has his own sports law blog at sportslawmatt.wordpress.com where he writes articles on the most current sports law issues including Financial Fair Play (FFP) and anti-doping in sport. His final year dissertation titled 'A critical analysis of implied sporting consent in 'on-the-ball' incidents focused on the criminal law aspect of challenges during football matches in the UK and ice-hockey games in Canada. Matt has also written for the blog site of Aston Villa F.C. My Old Man Said (MOMS).
