Adamu & Fusimalohi Appeal

Sunday, 08 May 2011

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has registered the following appeals:

  • The appeal filed by Mr Amos Adamu (Nigeria), former FIFA Executive Committee member, against the FIFA Appeal Committee’s decision to ban him for three years from any activity related to football at national and international level.
  • The appeal filed by Mr Ahongalu Fusimalohi (Tonga), former General Secretary of the Tonga Football Association, against the FIFA Appeal Committee’s decision to ban him for two years from any activity related to football at national and international level.

In both cases, the appellants request that they be found not guilty and the sanctions against them be annulled. The cases will be handled in accordance with the procedural rules set out in the Code of Sports-related Arbitration. The parties will first exchange written submissions and will then be heard at a hearing, the date of which will be fixed at a later stage.
