Johan Bruynell Appeal Rejected
Wednesday, 05 January 2011The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced on the 30th December that it had dismissed the appeal filed on 16 December 2010 by Johan Bruyneel, manager of the cycling team Radioshack, against the decision of the disciplinary commission of the International Cycling Union (UCI) to suspend him for the months of February and March 2011.
The UCI imposed the suspension due to the fact that Radioshack violated the regulations by wearing an unauthorised jersey in the last stage of the Tour de France 2010. Johan Bruyneel had appealed the timing of his suspension to the CAS asking for his ban to start on 1 January 2011 instead of 1 February 2011.
The award will be published in the next few weeks. For further information visit www.tas-cas.org.
