Richard Santy

Richard is a core member of the sports and retail sector teams. He is an employment partner based in the firm's Birmingham and London offices. His focus is on the private sector and, while he advises on all aspects of employment law, has a particular emphasis on complex litigation.

Richard has helped many football clubs, athletes and sports organisations with difficult cases, including assisting British Cycling with the discrimination claim made by Jess Varnish, Eniola Aluko with her discrimination claim against the FA, and Watford FC with the claim made by former manager, Enrique Sanchez Flores.

Richard has been described as commercial and pragmatic with a "can do" attitude.

Richard used to be a professional tennis player. He has travelled all over the world playing in ITF professional tournaments and team events and he now has a top 100 seniors world ranking. His competitive attitude may explain his desire to fight for the best outcome for his clients!
