Alastair specialises in providing commercial and intellectual property advice to clients in the sport and media sectors. He typically works with national governing bodies, international federations, clubs and teams, event organisers, and rights holders. He was previously Head of Legal at the International Paralympic Committee, where he worked at two Paralympic Games and was responsible for managing the IPC’s commercial affairs and brand / intellectual property portfolio.
He has advised on numerous, groundbreaking global sponsorship deals, and typically supports clients with sponsorship contracts, marketing and rights activation campaigns. He also has extensive experience negotiating media rights deals and has advised on a range of broadcasting partnerships with major media companies across the world, including Channel 4’s award winning coverage of the Paralympic Games. Alastair also works with individual athletes, helping them grow their public profile through endorsement deals, influencer campaigns, and structuring and protecting their image rights.
Alastair advises various sports and media clients on how to protect their brands and content from unauthorised use and piracy. He has created and implemented brand protection and ambush marketing strategies for global and national sporting events.
