John Hand
Partner
John is a commercial and sports regulatory lawyer with a particularly deep understanding of international motorsport. He has experience both in private practice and, uniquely, in-house at a World Championship winning Formula 1 team. Therefore, he understands what leadership teams want from external counsel.
John enjoys collaborating on commercial agreements including commercial rights (eg the F1 Concorde Agreement), driver / athlete, sponsorship, consultancy, employment and licensing agreements.
He has also provided strategic sports regulatory advice to teams and governing bodies and has drafted international regulations. John has sports disciplinary experience such as preparing FIA protests and appeals.
John takes pride in delivering high technical standards often presented with a visual element and has a passion for social mobility.
John is also a non-executive director on the Board of the Manchester FA and Chair of the Manchester FA Regulatory Strategy Group.
