Simon Grossobel

Simon Grossobel is a Partner at Quastels LLP, where he leads the firm’s Sports Group and is a specialist in commercial disputes and regulatory matters within the sports, media & entertainment sectors.

Simon joined Quastels in 2021, bringing experience from his prior role at a Tier 1 sports ranked US firm. Over the course of his career, he has developed deep expertise in sports-related disputes, representing players, agents, clubs, federations, and related stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

Simon is well known as a skilled negotiator with a pragmatic, hands-on style who pays attention not only to the legal issues but also the business and reputational implications of his clients’ positions.  In the sports sphere, Simon has experience in cases involving FIFA, CAS, FA, EFL and other domestic and international arbitrations. He has acted in a number of high profile sporting and financial investigations

Simon’s approach is underpinned by a deep understanding of the sports industry, enabling him to craft legal strategies that are commercially minded and tailored to the unique challenges of sports, media and entertainment entities.

His practice extends beyond sport: he acts in complex inter-company and shareholder disputes, interjurisdictional matters (including high-profile individuals, family offices and trusts), and in broader commercial and regulatory litigation.

Outside his case work, Simon contributes thought leadership in the field (e.g. writing on real-time sports dispute resolution).
