Tim Copplestone

Tim is an employment lawyer and Head of Clarke Willmott’s sport sector.  He has himself represented Great Britain in the sport of kayaking, and is identified as a ‘Leading Partner’ in the Legal 500 legal directory. 

Tim represents Premier League Managers, Premier League footballers, and Premiership rugby players advising on contractual issues and disputes.  Tim has represented managers in the Premier League Managers Arbitration Tribunal and players in the Premier League Arbitration Tribunal.  Tim has represented sports stars including England footballers, New Zealand All Blacks, and sports media pundits.  He advises a wide range of sports industry employers, professional clubs, international sports businesses, players and senior employees on employment law matters (including employment contracts, bonus structures, and tailoring restrictive covenants), Employment Tribunal litigation, arbitration disputes, and employment sport regulatory matters (including in the RFU Disciplinary Tribunal, and RFU Appeal tribunal).

Tim is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and teaches post-graduate Masters students Sport and Employment law at the University of Bath.
