India's Draft National Air Sports Policy 2022 - Does It Comply With The Domestic Framework?
In India, policies governing any category of sports are generally issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. However, in a surprising turn of events, on 1 January 22, it was the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India (MoCA), which released the Draft National Air Sports Policy, 2022[1] (NASP) for public comments.
The objective[2] of the NASP is to improve the state of aero sports in India, with a vision to make India one of the top nations in air sports by 2030. Furthermore, the NASP aims to provide a safe, affordable, accessible, and sustainable air sports ecosystem in India[3] and to encourage participation of Indians, at various global air sports events[4].
