Lawyer for 40 UK gymnasts shares insights into the difficulties in addressing allegations of abuse

In this interview, Joseph Carr - an expert in abuse claims against sports organisations, schools and religious institutions - shares his ongoing experience of advising over 40 UK gymnasts following the high-profile UK and international gymnastics abuse cases that led to the Whyte Review (published June 2022).[1]
Joseph provides his perspective on the legal and institutional progress made to date to examine and address the abuse. He also highlights a number of concerning inadequacies in the process and offers his thoughts on what might be done to improve matters in the hope that other sports governing bodies and regulators may learn from his experience.
