2024 in Indian sports law was a year dominated by India’s Olympic performance and its future aspirations. On the back of an under par campaign from the Indian contingent at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the country’s formal statement of intent to bid to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Indian Government took steps towards introducing significant regulatory and governance changes across the sporting pyramid. These developments promise a potentially dynamic decade ahead for sports law and governance in the country.
