The UK’s Football Governance Bill - Progress Update June 2025

The UK government’s pending Football Governance Bill[1] should have a smooth passage through its final stages in parliament to become law by July or September. The bill has completed its scrutiny by the House of Lords and comfortably survived a number of votes called by opponents. Whilst the government is still considering making further changes to the bill, its large majority in the House of Commons means it should face no difficulty in pushing the bill through its remaining parliamentary stages in the coming weeks.
