How to avoid expensive construction disputes in sport: Lessons from key cases

The development of stadiums, more often than not, come with high publicity and a high budget. It's therefore inevitable that setbacks will happen.  

In this article, the authors discuss some notable stadium construction cases from the Technology and Construction Court and provide some learning points from these cases to those involved in the construction/redevelopment of sports stadiums or venues in order to help them better safeguard their interests (especially where the construction itself does not go to plan).

The cases set out below are of relevance because the facts, principles and learning points contained within them often repeat themselves during the stadium construction process.

An understanding of these cautionary tales can guide those involved in the construction of sports stadiums to make future stadium construction projects as successful as possible.
