The Anti-Doping Division (ADD) of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) that was created for the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games has taken note of the Settlement Agreement concluded between the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) and the Russian bobsleigh athlete Nadezhda Sergeeva in relation to the athlete’s positive out-of-competition test for Trimetazidine, a non-specified substance (Metabolic Modulator prohibited under S4.5.5.4 of the 2018 WADA Prohibited List), on 18 February 2018.

The CAS ADD notes the parties’ agreement that the source of the Prohibited Substance was the ingestion of a contaminated product; that an anti-doping rule violation occurred, and that the sanction agreed between the parties is of eight (8) months’ ineligibility commencing on the date of sample collection (18 February 2018) and, in light of the lifting of the provisional suspension on 5 October 2018, ending at midnight on 22 October 2018.

Following the parties’ agreement and the withdrawal of the IBSF’s application to the CAS ADD, the CAS ADD procedure has been terminated.
