We are excited to announce that the 5th LawInSport’s Annual Conference ‘Understand The Rules Of The Game 2019’ will be hosted at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, Green Park (Mayfair), London on 12th & 13th September 2019.

This two day conference will build on the success of the previous annual conferences at which over 300 leading sports lawyers, sports executives, academics, students and athletes networked and discussed the key issues and developments in international sports law.

Our marketing panel will provide insight into creating and managing data and sports marketing agreements. We are delighted to have the following international sports law experts join this discussion panel:

SPEAKER BIOS

Nick White, Partner, Charles Russell Speechlys

Nick is an intellectual property and digital specialist. His experience spans many areas including brand protection, e-commerce, broadcasting, marketing, esports, defamation / privacy, data protection, betting and gaming, disputes and regulatory matters. Alongside his expertise in sports, as one of the firm’s key lifestyle lawyers, Nick works extensively across the leisure, fashion and food and beverage industries.

Nick advises governing bodies like FIFA and the ATP and businesses such as Rapha, Honest Burgers and Fitbit. He also has a strong practice advising high profile individuals and has advised Sir Mo Farah, Sir Chris Hoy and Sir Clive Woodward.

Nick co-wrote the UK chapter of the book "Sports Image Rights in Europe". He lectures and speaks widely on topics from ambush marketing and image rights to the use of data in the leisure industry. He is a former director of the British Association for Sport and the Law. He has been recommended by the Chambers and Partners, Legal500 and Who's Who directories.

Nick is admitted to practise in England and Wales.


Christopher Chase, Partner, Frankfurt Kurnit

Chris routinely counsels major sports leagues, teams, and governing bodies on intellectual property, branded entertainment, and promotional matters; advises both sponsors and properties on the structure and negotiation of sponsorship and endorsement arrangements; counsels agency clients that activate sponsors’ marketing campaigns (including for major events such as the Super Bowl, World Cup, and the Olympics); advises major sports apparel, footwear and fitness companies on marketing campaigns and intellectual property matters; and advises high profile athletes on their on-field and off the field activities, including endorsements, appearances, film and TV production, trademark development, brand protection, and transfer agreements within Major League Soccer.

Chris began his career as a litigator at Clifford Chance Rogers + Wells.
