The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has announced its decision in the appeal arbitration procedures between the Italian MotoGP rider Andrea Iannone, the World AntiDoping Agency (WADA) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Andrea Iannone and WADA filed separate appeals at CAS against the decision rendered by the FIM International Disciplinary Court dated 31 March 2020 in which Andrea Iannone was found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) (presence of Drostanolone, a anabolic steroid featured on the 2019 WADA Prohibited List) and an 18-month period of ineligibility was imposed on him.

Belgian-based retail and online gambling company Bingoal has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA). It will see the operator incorporate its sportsbook operation with IBIA’s global betting integrity monitoring and alert platform. Covid-19, another reason to give athletes a seat at the table in anti-doping
A few days ago, the German Sport University in Cologne presented the results of a survey that demonstrated the financial impact that Covid-19 has had on elite German athletes. The research team showed that on average, German Olympic and Paralympic athletes have lost 25% of their regular income since the begin of the pandemic. One can only assume that athletes worldwide are facing similar impacts and the situation is expected to worsen next year.
