CAF General Secretary opens Interclub Safety and Security Conference in Cairo
CAF General secretary Mouad Hajji opened today (Wednesday 19 February 2020) in Cairo, Egypt the first CAF Safety and Security Conference for Confederation Cup and Champions League clubs participating in CAF competitions.
Hajji stressed on the importance of Safety and Security development in African football, highlighting the efforts exerted by CAF and Security department in promoting the initiative of Safety and Security across the continent.
CAF General Secretary said Safety and Security is one of the most important aspects CAF is developing in the transform process it is undergoing. This is not the first workshop to be held for Safety and Security officers, as CAF is applying the concept within the continent’s clubs and national teams.
He highlighted the conference’s objectives, including introducing the new CAF Safety and Security Regulations and demanding its full implementation by club management, the introduction of basic safety and security training for Club Safety and Security Managers, enhancing networking and team building amongst all clubs stakeholders, ensuring that Clubs take full responsibility for the promotion of stadium safety and security, and promoting a new sport safety and security culture among clubs.
The two-day event (19 – 20 February 2020) will involve Club Managers and Club Safety and Security Officers so as to share experiences and best international and global practices that will re-define the concept and culture of safety and security in Africa.
