Hajji Sekabira Abdul still talks about it with emotion. “I attended my first ever CAF engagement today. What an experience and wealth of knowledge from the team in Cairo… such critical information from start to finish...And the facilitators speak a language we need to start to speak as often as possible in the UPL”. These are the words of Hajji Sekabira Abdul. At 52 years old, this former sergeant of Ugandan army is an executive member of FUFA (Uganda Football Federation) in charge of safety and security.

Like him, nearly 200 participants took part, from December 2 to 3, in an unprecedented event: the “first CAF Safety and Security Officers' Regional Workshop”, organized by CAF.

CAF Acting Secretary General Abdelmounaïm Bah came to kick off this event organized under the theme "Promoting the safety and security of stadiums". It brought together CAF security officers, first and second division club presidents and officers, as well as national security officers by videoconference.

During the two days that the workshop lasted, they listened to certified experts like Katarina Steinberg and David van Vuuren who spoke to them on crowd management, planning emergencies and contingencies and the challenges they face in the stadiums.
