The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) appoints former Sony, Paramount and DreamWorks executive, Magnus Hollo, as non-Executive Chair

ESIC

ESIC is delighted to announce the appointment of our first Board Chair, Magnus Hollo, for an initial two-year term, joining to head the existing non-executive directors, Geoff Davies (Finance), Michele Verroken (Anti-Doping) and Ben Bradtke (Betting) alongside Commissioner, Ian Smith.

Magnus brings vast, top-level experience in the entertainment and media industry to ESIC, having previously occupied senior executive roles at Sony Pictures Digital and Home Entertainment, Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures. He will continue to assist ESIC at a strategic level to help the Commission keep pace with the evolution and growth of the esports industry that we serve.

Ian Smith, Commissioner of the Esports Integrity Commission said:

“Magnus has been helping me and the Board since last Autumn and has already had a significant impact, so it is wonderful to formally announce his appointment at last. Quite apart from chairing our board meetings, Magnus provides amazing support to me as I deal with the rapid expansion of ESIC and the industry; especially in areas of corporate governance. I look forward to working more closely with him over the coming period, especially as we work jointly to determine ESIC’s place in whatever “new normal’ emerges from the coronavirus pandemic for esports.”

Magnus Hollo said:

“I am really pleased to join ESIC at this point in time. Ian Smith and the ESIC team have done an outstanding job establishing ESIC as the key regulator and partner to the esports industry globally. As the industry matures and continues to grow, I look forward to supporting the ESIC team and help develop their strategy for the next 3-5 years. Last November’s rebranding of ESIC formed a first stepping stone on this journey and we are planning many more as ESIC’s mission becomes increasingly vital.”
