UCI statement on UCI Professional Continental Team Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the Disciplinary Commission has decided to suspend the UCI Professional Continental Team Androni Giocattolli-Sidermec for a period of 30 days from 1st to 30 August 2015 in accordance with article 7.12.1 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules (ADR) providing for a “Team Suspension” (*).
The UCI introduced the Team Suspension provisions on 1st January 2015 and this case is the first application of the new rule.
The ground for the team suspension is the notification of two potential anti-doping rule violations within the same Team within a 12 month period.
For the duration of its suspension, Team Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec is suspended from participating in any international event.
As provided for under article 7.12.1 ADR, Team Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec may file a request for a lifting of the suspension before the Disciplinary Commission.
At this stage of the procedure, the UCI will not make any further comment on the case.
(*) Following the notification of a second Adverse Analytical Finding for a member of Team Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec since the beginning of 2015 and within a twelve-month period, the UCI had referred the matter to the Disciplinary Commission for a decision on the Team suspension in accordance with article 7. 12.1 ADR

L’Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) annonce que la Commission Disciplinaire a décidé de suspendre l’Equipe Continentale Professionnelle UCI Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec pour une période de 30 jours à partir du 1er août 2015, conformément à l’article 7.12.1 du Règlement antidopage de l’UCI (RAD UCI) prévoyant la « Suspension d’une Equipe » (*).
L’UCI a introduit des dispositions relatives à la suspension des équipes le 1er janvier 2015. Ce cas marque la première application de cette nouvelle règle.
La notification de deux violations potentielles du Règlement antidopage dans une même équipe et dans une période de 12 mois peut entraîner la suspension de cette dernière.
Pendant la durée de sa suspension, l’équipe Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec a l’interdiction de participer à un événement international.
Comme l’article 7.12.1 du RAD le prévoit, l’équipe Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec pourra déposer une demande de levée de sa suspension auprès de la Commission Disciplinaire.
L’UCI ne fera pas d’autres commentaires sur ce cas à ce stade de la procédure.
(*) Suite à la notification d’un second Résultat d’Analyse Anormal pour un membre de l’équipe Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec depuis le début 2015 et dans une période de 12 mois, l’UCI avait saisi la Commission Disciplinaire pour qu’elle se prononce sur la suspension de l’équipe conformément à l’article 7.12.1 du RAD.
