Basketball Arbitral Tribunal Arbitration Rules 2025: What’s changed?

The Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (“BAT”) has streamlined its dispute resolution process with small, yet very effective rule changes for 2025 in its BAT Arbitration Rules (“2025 BAT Rules”) [1].

For players, agents, and legal counsel operating in international basketball, these updates to notification procedures, submission deadlines, and payment protocols promise faster resolution of commercial disputes.

This article examines how the new BAT Rules will accelerate arbitration proceedings while maintaining their hallmark simplicity and cost-effectiveness.
