The Role

We are seeking an experienced creative, organised and proactive Marketing & Communications Lead to help grow and engage our global community.

Yo will own our marketing and communications end to end.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys and has proven track record combining creativity with execution. You will be responsible for planning and delivering our social media activity, creating marketing campaigns, designing and managing email marketing communications and list, desiging artwork, and promote our events, webinars, memberships and content.

You will play an important role in ensuring that LawInSport’s expertise reaches the right audiences and that our communications remain professional, engaging and aligned with our brand.

The ideal candidate will be a strong writer with excellent attention to detail, experience creating digital content, and a willingness to take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery.

You won’t be doing this alone. You will work with and coordinate our wider marketing team, planning and briefing their work so that execution scales without you having to do everything yourself.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

Who you are:

  • Genuinely curious about sport, law and governance. You can read the sector and judge what's worth communicating and amplifying. This is core to the role, not a bonus.
  • A precise, persuasive writer with editorial judgement.
  • You take ownership from idea to delivery and are comfortable working independently and asynchronously.
  • Proactive: you bring ideas rather than wait to be tasked.

Essential — what you can do:

  • 2+ years in marketing, communications, content or digital marketing.
  • Email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot or similar).
  • Creating social content and designing assets in Canva or similar.
  • Organised across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Be on hand to attend and manage communications and marketing at in-person events in UK, Europe and internationally.

Desirable:

  • Experience promoting events, webinars or conferences
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics and social media scheduling tools
  • Experience working within publishing, media, membership organisations or professional services
  • Basic video editing skills for short-form content
  • Understanding of SEO principles and content marketing
  • Interest in sport, law, governance or the wider sports industry

Core Mandate

Your performance will be measured primarily by membership growth and engagement, including new members, event registrations and newsletter subscribers, alongside how actively our existing members and readers use and interact with our content, events and initiatives. Two priorities sit above everything else: (1) turn our content into reach, engagement and conversion across email and our priority channels; (2) drive registrations for our events.

At LawInSport, we offer:

  • Flexible, remote working within a supportive and collaborative environment

  • Meaningful, mission-driven work at the intersection of sport, law, and business
  • Global impact — opportunity to work with a respected international community
  • Professional development — scope to shape processes, improve efficiencies, and grow with the organisation
  • Varied and engaging work — no two days are the same in our dynamic environment

We want everyone to feel a sense of trust and belonging. We're proud of our values and committed to creating an environment where you can do your best work while supporting our mission to make sport fairer, more transparent, and more inclusive.
