Medical and Anti-Doping Report of the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026
- Report on injuries, educational talks and tally of anti-doping controls carried out during the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026.
- The continental tournament took place from January 24 to February 1 in Paraguay, with the participation of the ten national teams of the CONMEBOL Member Associations.
The South American Football Confederation, through its Medical Commission and Anti-Doping Unit, presents its Medical and Anti-Doping Report of the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026, held in Luque – Paraguay, from January 24 to February 1, 2026, with the participation of the ten national teams of the CONMEBOL Member Associations.
This report aims to present a summary of the injuries suffered by athletes during the competition, a follow-up of the educational talks carried out with all participating teams and of the anti-doping controls.
In the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026, a total of 7 injuries were recorded in 27 matches played, including: muscle injuries, sprains, contusions, and others.
For its part, the Anti-Doping Unit conducted educational talks with the teams participating in the tournament, totaling 200 people including players and coaching staff from the teams.
A total of 108 urine samples were collected during the competition, in order to carry out the corresponding controls in all the matches played.
The medical team consisted of: Dr. Eduardo de Barros as Medical Coordinator, Dr. Marcelo Rodriguez and Dr. André Thiele as Medical Officers.
