AESF cements partnership with the CIIE for the next three years starting 2020
Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding earlier today, the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) is proud to announce the collaboration and partnership with the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for three (3) years.
A trade fair held in autumn annually since 2018, this year’s event will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center In Shanghai China on the 5th of November 2020. The CIIE is world's first import-themed national-level expo and this organisation is under the direct guidance of the President of China, Mr. Xi Jinping.
Commenting on the recent news, Mr Kenneth Fok, President of the AESF said “This is yet another progressive step for the AESF, aligning ourselves with like-minded partners who share a common goal and vision. This is a two-way collaboration which improves both parties in so many aspects, and I believe I share the sentiment of my CIIE counterpart when envisioning a long-lasting, exponential growth for the esports scene here in China, with CIIE playing a major role in its progress.”
In attendance at the signing ceremony, AESF Director General, Mr Sebastian Lau said “This is a great opportunity for Esports to connect with sectors linked to the Esports ecosystem. Not only does it bridge the gap in knowledge between differing sectors, it also opens up a lot of opportunities for everyone interested in fostering partnerships.”
“I also see this as a way for the AESF to better educate the public which can only benefit all parties in the long run and this also provides the golden opportunity for esports and sports companies who would like to enter or promote themselves or their products in the Chinese market.” he added.
The AESF’s participation will allow the federation to expand its brand, promote close relationships between the organization and the government, and to pave the way for long-term business in not only esports but in other popular traditional sports as well, especially from the shared experiences of AESF’s Executive Board and core team.
Vice Director-General of the CIIE, Mr. Liu Fuxue added at the signing ceremony, “I look forward to an extensive and in-depth cooperation with the AESF through the platform of CIIE. Through the influence of AESF, more emerging sports companies will not be only introduced to CIIE, but also into China.”
At the CIIE, the AESF will seek to show industry leadership, opening a dialogue for Esports in the Olympics, and introduce game events while interacting with fans. Mr. Liu also mentions that AESF is invited to join the CIIE industrial committee to continue discussions to further contribute in this market.
All parties involved acknowledge and understand that each individual party will demonstrate mutual support for each other, with the common objective of advancement, promotion and education of Sports and Esports. Through this partnership, the AESF also aims to leverage on the CIIE’s experience and vast network to further develop the Esports scene in Asia as a whole.
