Powerlifting Athlete Suspended for Multiple Whereabouts Failures
Ottawa – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) announced today that Maria Htee, a powerlifting athlete, received a 15-month sanction for an anti-doping rule violation. The athlete accumulated three whereabouts failures during a 12-month period.
In response to the CCES’s notification of the anti-doping rule violation, the athlete signed an Agreement on Consequences thereby waiving her right to a hearing and accepting the proposed sanction and all other applicable consequences. The sanction terminates on May 1, 2024.
During the sanction period, the athlete is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport signatory to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP), including training with teammates.
